Dorset Outdoor Education Service are looking for an experienced and motivated senior instructor to join our growing team and help transform Weymouth Outdoor Education Centre to the next level.

From paddle sports to rock climbing to dingy sailing, the Weymouth centre not only delivers a wide range of life changing experiences, but also provides the opportunity to explore iconic locations within the famous Jurassic Coast such as Lulworth cove, Swanage Bay and Old Harry Rocks. As a Senior Instructor, it is expected that you hold a good range of qualifications and come with a wealth of experience so that you can hit the ground running and provide support and mentoring to junior team members. All new recruits will be provided with an effective induction along with continued support involving shadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities including National Governing Body qualifications.

- Delivering activities to our customers
- Managing and developing our team or highly skilled and motived instructors
- Ensuring the maintenance of our resources and equipment
- Administrative tasks may involve arranging schedules, planning activities, developing teaching resources and producing content for our social media.

**About you**
- Due to the varied demands of the role, experience and flexibility is crucial. Not only will you be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of our activities, but you will also be expected to deputise for the centre manger if required.
It is expected that you will possess a 16-hour first aid qualification.

- Paddlesports Coach (open water)
- Sea Kayak / Stand-Up Paddleboard Leader qualifications.

Other Desirable skills.
- Dinghy Senior Instructor or Powerboat Instructor qualifications
- Climbing Wall Instructor
- Canoe / Kayak / SUP Coach (sheltered water)
- Archery Instructor
- Minibus driver license (full training will be provided if you do not possess a licence)

We will expect a Senior Instructor to be able to work safely in the outdoor environment, understand the importance of working to standard operating procedures, can make ‘in-the-moment’ calculated judgements and decisions along with being able to communicate clearly to the customer through a coached delivery approach
