Sleaford, United Kingdom Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust Full time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic full-time or part time band 6 (developing band 5 considered) Podiatrist to join a hardworking and motivated podiatry team, working in Lincolnshire. Lincolnshire offers the perfect balance of modern amenities and a relaxing lifestyle. Vibrant nightlife and high street shopping contrast with rural countryside and unspoilt coastline. There are excellent direct rail links to London, Nottingham and Leicester with access to all major road networks.

The Podiatry service acts as a single point of contact triaging all foot referrals in Lincolnshire working seamlessly with the Multidisciplinary Diabetic foot clinic in secondary care. You will have the opportunity to work from a variety of clinic settings including GP surgeries, health clinics, and Multidisciplinary Diabetic foot clinics at four hospital settings across the county.

We would consider a suitable applicant who does not yet have the experience to achieve a band 6 role but who may be suitable for a band 5-6 development role. This can be discussed at interview.

As a service we are passionate that our unique specialist skills as Podiatrists are concentrated on high risk Podiatric Pathologies which require the specific input of a Podiatrist therefore the service does not provide routine nail and foot care. The service provides Podiatric treatment including wound management, diabetes, biomechanics, nail surgery and new patient assessments. You will be expected to work across all of these areas and support less experienced colleagues in their professional development. You will be supported to undertake your IRMER training and will have the opportunity to make use of diagnostic tools such as bloods swabbing, X-Rays and Ultra sound. Consultations are provided face to face, telephone and video consultation.

We are looking for a person who not only has excellent clinical and diagnostic skills, a positive mental attitude and is flexible hard-working and adaptable to change and be willing to challenge the traditional views of Podiatry.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services, recently rated as outstanding by the CQC, is an innovative and adaptable organisation at the forefront of delivering care within the communities we serve. You will be joining a specialist Podiatry team that is committed towards providing a high quality of podiatric care to the diverse population of Lincolnshire. We are continually developing and improving our services and we pride ourselves as being caring, safe, effective and forward thinking. We believe in taking a proactive and curative approach in managing high-risk caseloads using a combination of empowerment techniques, self-help advice and clinical skills to provide treatment plans.
