We have a fantastic opportunity for two teaching assistants to join a primary school of ours in Ashington Northumberland. You will be expected to support children in a small group environment within either a year 3 or year 5 classroom.

We're looking for enthusiastic teaching assistants who have experience of working with children ideally within a primary school setting and have some experience or at least knowledge of working with children with additional needs. We have the following opportunities available for the right person:
1. Year 3 Teaching Assistant
2. Year 5 Teaching Assistant

**As a Teaching Assistant working, your duties may include**:

- 1:1 student support and small group interventions
- Assist the classroom teacher with lesson planning and preparation.
- Lead small group or individual instruction as assigned by the teacher.
- Provide additional support to students who need extra help.
- Help supervise students in the classroom, playground, cafeteria, and other areas.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
- Assist with record keeping and other administrative tasks.
- Prepare teaching materials and classroom displays.
- Assist with setting up and tidying up the classroom each day.
- Supervise students on field trips and other school-sponsored activities.
- Provide individual attention to students who need extra help

**The requirements for this role are**:

- GCSE English & Maths
- Preferably qualified to an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification
- Experience working with children and experience or knowledge of working with children with additional needs
- Ability to develop positive relationships with students, parents and staff
- Possess strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of classroom procedures and policies
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Part-time hours: 32.5 per week

**Salary**: £11.00-£12.00 per hour
