My client a high street firm based near Barnsley are looking to recruit a Legal Cashier to join their team.
Main Duties:

- The provision of accurate and timely processing of financial transactions for the practice by providing competent and effective legal cashiering duties.
- Assisting the COFA in the compliance of the Solicitor's Accounts Rules.
- Undertake daily banking functions including bank reconciliations.
- The processing of client and office accounting transactions including postings.
- The processing of client bills to include checking and posting
- Input and production of nominal payment requests.
- Supervising office payments to suppliers.
- Supervising stationery supply ordering.
- Processing payments by CHAPS/BACS.
- Carrying out month and year end procedures.
- Liaising with Practice manager to set annual/monthly budgets.
- Preparing monthly management accounts and liaising with our accountants in relation to year end accounts, our SRA audit and tax returns.
- VAT administration and returns.
- Credit Control.
- Processing of travel and other expenses.
- Monthly and yearly financial reporting.
- Assisting third party payroll service.
Skills Required:

- At least 4 years' experience working in a Legal practice account office.
- Knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules and working with residential conveyancing transactions.
