**Principal Objectives**:
To work within a small team to document and control all livestock arrival to site and their associated documentation. Speaking with suppliers over the phone and face to face, dealing with queries and issues as they arise. The role consists of the administration involved in procuring all types of cattle in line with the procurement plan, ensuring they are to company specification and high welfare standards. Supporting Livestock Manager with all day-to-day office-based tasks. Co-ordinating invoices and payments to external suppliers and hauliers. With a focus on excellent customer service and promoting the business to successfully grow the Pickstock brand. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, communication and organisation.
- Ensure that all Livestock are correctly registered onto the booking in system.
- Ensure that all Livestock’s documentation is completed and correct.
- Ensure a consistent flow of livestock is received in line with production requirements.
- All Livestock passports are checked against the transit paperwork.
- Ensure that all information required for product traceability is precise and correctly completed.
- Continuous contact with customers and ensure regular communication between your department and other required departmental managers.
- Ensuring that any departmental issues are addressed promptly, documented correctly and resolved efficiently.
- To ensure that all animal handling procedures are in line with current legislation, required standards set by the company and any supplier requirements.
- Working with suppliers to drive the best possible supply chain.
- Advising suppliers on upcoming changes.
- Track trends and changes within the industry, understanding the impact on our suppliers and the business as a whole.
- Reporting each week on cattle per buyer
- Co-ordinating Haulage both internal and external
- Feedback to the Livestock Manager on a regular basis and produce clear and comprehensive reports.
- Participate in team meetings, producing presentations for senior management as requested.
- Willingness to implement change for continuous improvement, ability to analyse current working practices for improvements, flexibility and adaptability.

**Key Attributes, Knowledge & Skills**
- Experience of operating in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Scottish/UK livestock industry.
- Excellent communication skills and able to communicate effectively within the department.
- Excellent attention to detail and telephone manner
- Can effectively work well within a team environment and under pressure.
- The ability to manage the day to day whilst challenging the norm in a positive and constructive mindset.
- Be accountable, approachable and punctual at all times.
