We are recruiting for aLocumConsultant in Trauma and Orthopaedicswho shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

The appointee will be expected, in conjunction with his/her colleagues, to provide a comprehensive orthopaedic trauma service and to contribute to the on-call rota

Medway NHS Foundation Trust provides a comprehensive Trauma and Orthopaedic service for the surrounding district of the Medway Towns and Swale. The Trauma and Orthopaedic department has eleven consultant surgeons and is supported by two Orthogeriatric consultants. It provides upper and lower limb, foot & ankle and spine subspecialties.

**The key areas for the postholder will include**:

- Assessment, care & treatment of patients presenting to the orthopaedic service.
- Play a major role in developing surgical pathways with an emphasis on ambulatory care and trauma patient flow
- Develop the provision of hip fracture services in line with National Guidance
- Lead quality improvement in orthopaedic trauma surgery
- Clinical leadership in the delivery of a high quality orthopaedic trauma service
- Providing teaching and training at undergraduate and postgraduate level
- Participate in relevant audit and quality assurance processes
- Abide by the clinical and corporate governance policies of the trust.
