About Us:
Join our dynamic team at GCU, a successful company in the utilities and civil engineering sector. We are seeking a dedicated Stores/Yard Operative to manage and maintain our stock and yard operations in our depot on Duke St in Glasgow. This role is crucial in ensuring our operational teams have the materials and support they need to excel.

Key Responsibilities:
As the key owner of the GCU Stock Management Process, you will oversee Goods In and Goods Out operations. You will operate the SAGE Stock system with precision, conduct formal monthly stock counts, and perform weekly anomaly checks. Your responsibilities will also include managing the float for key operational consumables and efficiently manning the Service Desk/Goods In Area.

In the yard, you will oversee the movement and storage of materials and plant, prepare Material Packs for Operational Gangs in advance, and ensure the cleanliness of the yard and support areas. Additionally, you will assist in stock checks and audits as required, monitor waste bins/skips, and support mechanics in the movement of plant and vehicles.

Health and Safety:
Maintaining a safe environment is paramount. You will ensure that Stores and Yard areas are ordered, clean, and tidy, preventing slips, trips, and falls. Adhering to GCU Health and Safety Policies and processes, you will set an example by always wearing the correct PPE.

Quality:
You will comply with and contribute to the development of GCU Processes. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential in all tasks, particularly in issue/returns and SAGE input. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including basic Excel, and familiarity with computerised stock management packages are required. You will also follow GCU Plant and Equipment Management Processes/Tagging systems and accurately prepare material packs as per picking lists.
