**Tea People** is an award-winning family run social enterprise that sells a wide variety of speciality tea and herbal infusions. It was started by a husband-wife team from their kitchen table 10 years ago with the vision of eliminating poverty in tea growing regions of the world. It hence reinvests 50% of its profit for educational and social development in those regions. Having grown to a team of 12 (majority of whom are women), it now operates from a commercial site in Reading which is used for all of its business activities including blending, packaging and processing of orders from all over the country and abroad.

We are now looking for some **Warehouse & Blending Operatives** to join our amazing team on a full-time and part-time basis. Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment would be preferred but not essential.

As a **Warehouse/Blending Operative** you will be required to work in a tea blending/ packing room environment and handle the following tasks:

- Receive, store and retrieve all ingredients and material for timely and accurate processing of orders and **tea blending** (for which necessary training will be provided)
- Undertake all aspects of order processing, i.e. picking, packing, labelling and record-keeping.
- Stock handling and organising.
- Ensuring the area is clean before and after work in order to meet the highest standards of safety and hygiene.

This is a hands on job which will require you to be on your feet and do some heavy lifting as well. The type of work may change with each piece of work and you may be required to carry out other duties as necessary to meet business needs bearing in mind that the boundaries of job responsibilities can be a lot wider in smaller entrepreneurial organisations.

- Have impeccable attention to detail with ability to work with finesse while maintaining speed and accuracy

**Contract type**

Permanent, Full-time with 3 months probation.

**Job location**

Unit 5 Broughton Close, 115 Loverock Road, Reading RG30 1DZ

**Work hours**

**Full time**: 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday, i.e. 40 hours per week + occasional overtime work on evenings and weekends.

**Part time**: 9am to 5pm, 3 days a week (Mon - Fri), 24 hours per week + occasional overtime work on evenings and weekends.

**Other information**

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the premises.
