Pure Coffee runs four cafes around Greater Manchester: Etherow Park Café (Stockport), Vernon Park Café (Stockport), The Boathouse Café (Oldham) and The Windmill Coffee shop (Stockport) as well as ‘Pure Kitchen’ a bakery based in Stockport. Our cafes have two keys aims: providing delicious food and beverages, while delivering quality customer service and providing our clients with the skills and experience of working in a busy commercial café.

**What will you be doing as a Catering Team leader?**

As a Cafe Team leader at Pure Innovations, you will work alongside the café supervisor to supervise and promote a catering outlet, delivering excellent customer care and serving high quality food and beverages. You will support and mentor Catering Assistants ensuring a high-quality service for our customers and support Pure’s clients in their training and development. You will be expected to comply with all relevant food legislation and achieve a mark of 5 in the Food Hygiene Rating Inspection.

**Summary of key duties and responsibilities**:
1. General running of the café including serving customers, supporting clients and preparation of food.

2. Deputise in the absence of the supervisor in ensuring that the café maintains its levels of quality, service and compliance with both food hygiene and health and safety.

3. To have an input in catering assistant interviews, recruitment decisions and training and development.

4. To become a ‘Barista specialist’ for your café, including the training of catering assistants and clients, while ensuring quality is maintained and is consistent. Full training will be given.

5. To work alongside catering support staff and Pure support to ensure clients are trained and supported to work in a catering environment and highlight any health and safety/safeguarding concerns to relevant Pure Support Managers.

6. To communicate effectively with the catering manager and supervisor to ensure the smooth running of the café, including attending regular meetings.

7. To supervise and control the essential food product ordering system, identifying best suppliers and ensuring the existing waste control systems are effective.

8. To be a key holder for the café and manage the security of the premises when required, including opening, and closing procedures.

9. To complete accurate paperwork as required in the specified timeframe, including signing off and sending weekly timesheets and banking procedures.

10. Managing staff sickness, including carrying out return to work meetings in the café supervisor’s absence and updating bright HR.

11. To comply with Pure Innovations policies, procedures and guidelines.

12. To ensure your teams compliance with reading and signing Risk Assessments on the health and safety app for all clients being supported and other occupational risk assessments.

13. To work closely with the Café Supervisor and Catering Manager to make continuous improvements and drive the café forward.

14. To report any equipment and maintenance problems in a timely manner to the café supervisor/ catering manager.

15. To carry out weekly and monthly fire checks in the absence of the café supervisor.

16. To promote the café, including the use of social media and website updates ensuring that content is suitable and professional.

17. To take part in investigation meetings, including taking notes.

18. Work with the Catering Supervisor to ensure the cafes customer service hits the standard expected, and that all Catering assistants maintain that standard at all times.

19. To ensure that the food hygiene standards in the café are maintained, including ensuring all legal checks are completed correctly and in a timely manner.

20. To contribute towards regular staff 1:1 and supervisions.

21. Provide sickness and annual leave cover at any of our cafes to meet the needs of the business.

**What will you need to be a successful Catering Team Leader?**

**Essential Criteria**
- Previous catering experience
- Barista Coffee Experience
- Exemplary Customer service skills
- Good communication Skills
- A high standard of personal hygiene
- You must be able to work between the hours of 7.30-6.30 to meet business need.
- You must be able to work across a 7-day week, including a fair proportion of weekends and bank holidays.
- You must be open to working across any of our cafés to meet the needs of the business.
- You must have a great attitude to work and be self-driven to achieve the cafes goals.
