This is an exciting opportunity to work on a full time 2-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) at the forefront of energy modeling technology, supervised by academic and industry experts. The aim is to develop models of the energy system (electricity grid, local renewable generation etc.), as part of a wider project to create city-level digital twins across the domains of heat, power, and transport, and to help create a more sustainable and low carbon energy system. In collaboration with Advanced Infrastructure, the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Sheffield has been awarded a KTP for a Energy Technologies Researcher to work as a KTP Associate. The Associate will manage the project, supported by the experienced staff from Advanced Infrastructure in Cambridge, and The University of Sheffield. This project will enable Advanced Infrastructure to develop services to improve energy modeling. The Associate will have the opportunity to work at a strategic level within the organisation with the support of an industrial supervisor from Advanced Infrastructure, and the academic team from the University of Sheffield. The academic team comprises Prof Alastair Buckley and a wider team of data scientists that deliver the PV_Live service for the National Grid.
