Can you demonstrate initiative, compassion, energy, determination and the ability to motivate and inspire people who use our services to develop their skills and self-confidence and realise their aspirations? Support work can be challenging at times, but you go home each day knowing you made a difference.

St Peter’s service, based in Dowanhill in Partick, is about helping people to live well to achieve the things in life that really matter to them. We have roles available in this new mental health service commissioned by Glasgow City Council, providing supported tenancies to 7 people living with moderate to severe and enduring mental health issues to live fulfilled lives and achieve goals, working with them as they take steps towards living independently or moving on.

As a Recovery Coach, you will support people in partnership with mental health services and primary health care services, enabling individuals to build their life in the community and achieve their chosen outcomes. You will provide direct mental and emotional wellbeing support as well as practical assistance for individual’s domestic and personal needs (food shopping, housework, medication, self-care) to improve their mental health and wellbeing whilst encouraging individual responsibility and maximisation of personal choice.

Everyone we support is different, this role involves using recovery focussed interventions, working with people in their homes and communities to jointly develop, adapt, monitor and review person centred support plans, risk assessments and safety plans to help them to identify where their strengths lie and support them in the areas where they may need it.

**What we are looking for**

In this role your attitude and personality matter as much as your skills and experiences. We are looking for initiative, compassion, energy and determination and the ability to motivate and inspire people who use our services to develop their skills and self-confidence and realise their aspirations.

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity and you will go home each day knowing you made a difference. We’re looking for people with great people skills who are honest, reliable and resilient in challenging situations. Ideally for this role you will have experience supporting people with mental health problems, key-working and case management.

Respect and dignity for the people who use our services is at the heart of everything we do. You don’t need any specific qualifications at first, but what you do need is the right attitude and values.

Supporting the people who use our services means there are a variety of shift patterns over a week including evenings, weekends, sleepovers and on-calls. You will be allocated to a service base but may be required to work flexibly across local services. The service operates 365 days a year.

**What we will provide for you**
