Murray McIntosh are delighted to be working with a long-established not for profit which specialises in bringing together experts and policy makers with the aim of ensuring a sustainable and inclusive society.

They are looking for a passionate Senior Policy Adviser to join their team and work on matters which focus on the fascinating world of climate change and net zero, and the technologies which will support us in reaching a sustainable environment.

As the Senior Policy Advisor, you will report to the team's Head and both lead and support on the development of a key work covering a variety of key and developing policies relating but not limited to energy, decarbonisation and sustainability. This rolewill be well suited to someone with a passion for the physical world around us, coupled with the future of technology.

In this role, key responsibilities will include:

- Leadership and strategy
- Programme management and oversight
- Stakeholder management and external engagement
- Line management responsibility for two junior team members
- Deputising for Head of Policy when required, and supporting senior team members where required.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Excellent knowledge of policy development coupled with enthusiasm for technology, climate, net zero, decarbonisation and sustainability and how it impacts society
- Strong understanding of parliamentary processes and governmental structure
- Ability to leverage networks across a diverse range of stakeholders
- Strong research and analytic skills, and confidence in gathering evidence and presenting findings
- Excellent written/ verbal communication skills
- Line management experience is very desirable
