Peace Recruitment are currently recruiting a skilled Welder for a large Fife based project. As a Welder, you will be responsible for safely performing welding and welding-related tasks in a production environment, supporting the Successor Project. The role includes but is not limited to welding, SMAW process, GSFCAW process, GTAW process, SAW process, Arc Air Gouging, Grinding/Burning, Basic Visual Inspection, and Control of welding consumables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all relevant HSE processes, procedures, and Risk Assessments
- Follow standard operating procedures for the safe set-up and operation of welding equipment in line with manufacturers' guidelines and industry norms
- Ensure LEV is present and being used correctly
- Carry out welding tasks in accordance with the essential variables detailed on the selected WPS
- Visual inspection of completed welds to contract acceptance standards and project requirements
- Maintain welding plant functionality
- Carry out daily machine checks and report any faults immediately
- Continually improve processes where required
- Safely set up and remove any pre-heating equipment
- Use of digital and thermal temperature recording devices
- Control of welding consumables and ceramic backing tiles in production environments
- Future focus to become part of a self-managed team
- HSSE Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Demonstrating a positive Safety culture
- Intervening constructively to highlight or challenge unsafe actions
- Demonstrating sufficient awareness of hazards present in the workplace
- Appropriate SHE Passport
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Indentured welder
- WPS Adherence
- Understanding of weld defects and causes
- Perform set-up procedures for all welding equipment and accessories to be used on projects
- Ability to work safely
- Ability to work as lead on all relevant work centers
