Finance & Payroll Officer

Protocol is delighted to be recruiting for a Finance Officer
**The role will require an Enhanced DBS processing.**
**MAIN DUTIES**
- Day to day running of the purchase ledger including coding, registering, matching and filing of invoices.
- To process invoices (including those for utilities) for authorisation and payment in line with agreed credit terms and the budget allocations for the period.
- Responsible for timely supplier payments through BACS payment runs. n Ensuring that the Accounts Payable ledger is up to date and ready for month end -closure.
- Carrying-out month end routines and reconciling the aged creditor report to the trial balance on a monthly basis.
- Entering purchase orders for designated budget areas and monitoring the PO workflow.
- Support the Management Accountant in de-commissioning purchase orders for budget holders and finance users when required.
- Setting-up new suppliers on the Finance system when required following established finance procedures.
- Providing an effective and efficient customer service to all stakeholders and be the main contact for all purchase ledger queries both internally and externally.
**PERSON SPECIFICATION**
- Educated to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent experience within a finance discipline
- AAT Intermediate qualification or equivalent
- Recent experience of working in a financial environment
- Experience of using standard industry spreadsheets and databases (i.e. Microsoft Office)
- Recent experience of using a finance package
