Dunbar, United Kingdom EDF Limited Full time

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Torness Power Station for a Training instructor to join our team to manage and deliver our Technical, Safety and Support Division training programme. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for training who has the requisite technical background and experience. It is a high visibility position that has a significant influence on our ability to produce electricity both reliably and safely at a nuclear power station. The position would allow the right individual to demonstrate and develop not only their technical and instructor qualities but also develop their leadership skills, particularly with regard to radiological protection standards.

**Application closing date - 11th January 2023**
**Interviews will take place w/c - 26th January 2023**

**Pay benefits & Culture**

We can offer a competitive salary with a range of £ 37,080- £67,175 with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. The starting salary will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

At EDF, everyone’s welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself. We’re committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’ll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.

**What you’ll be doing**
- This role reports directly to the Training Group head within the Torness Performance Improvement Department.
- Delivering environmental safety training. This includes radiological protection training to site personnel such as radiological protection awareness, standards and expectations, radiological surveyor training, and emergency radiological response protection training.
- Managing the Technical and Safety Support Division training programme ensuring the training delivery is per company specifications and based on the fundamentals of a Systematic Approach to Training.
- Delivering and tailoring content to suit engineer and technician level. More broad-based awareness training would also be required to Radiation Workers to ensure personnel safety with respect to ionising radiation.
- Providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and guidance to reinforce fundamental work practices, error prevention techniques, and technical knowledge to improve individual and plant performance.

**Who you are**

You will hold a qualification at HNC level (or equivalent) as a minimum, in a relevant engineering or technical discipline.

The applicant will be able to demonstrate clear leadership qualities and excellent communication skills with confidence liaising with both internal and external stakeholders and engaging training activities.
