**Job Details**

We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Seasonal Ranger across multiple sites in the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

**Your role**
- undertaking a ranger style role in open countryside and at important sites for nature conservation, engaging with the public and being a positive advocate for the Countryside Code
- liaising with a range of partner organisations to address any issues which could impact the enjoyment of the area for all and ensure visitors and residents have a positive experience of the AONB. Working largely on your own, you will share your passion for what the AONBs have to offer, from wildlife watching to long distance footpaths.

A unique opportunity to spend a large part of your working day in one of England's nationally designated landscapes and become part of a small team dedicated to conserving and enhancing these special places.

**Your responsibilities**
- act as a champion for the AONB, it's landscape, wildlife and communities by influencing positive visiting
- regularly monitor activity at key destinations, reporting incidents of concern to relevant agencies for action.

**You will need**

Excellent communication skills to provide a positive welcome to those you actively engage with when you are carrying out your role. You will also be self-motivated with the ability to work alone in remote locations.

**Travel and workplace requirements**

We positively encourage the use of technology to communicate, but in this role, you will need to travel to locations away from your contractual base, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.
