Job Introduction
Are you an organised professional, with excellent knowledge of participation and involvement mechanisms for children and young people? Are you skilled in facilitating and connecting young people’s experiences and views to make an impact on decision-making and service development? Are you experienced in organising multi-agency events?

This is a lead role for children’s voice and is a member of the Equality, Participation and Strategic Partnerships function. This role offers a unique and exciting opportunity to coordinate, develop and support our well-established elected East Sussex Youth Cabinet to be the representative voice of young people in East Sussex.
- Work alongside colleagues in a service that ensures the involvement of children and young people and families

- Support partnership working

You will be required to work occasional evening meetings and weekends.

You will play an essential part in providing children and young people with a voice in the development of services, policies and strategies.

The role is responsible for managing the Participation Worker and offering support to the team’s Apprentice.

Another important aspect is developing good practice and systems for participation with children and young people.

In addition, a crucial part of this role is championing youth voice and highlighting opportunities for meaningful youth involvement both internally in Children’s Services and externally, with partners in the public and voluntary sector.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
