Volunteer Treasurer

**Could you be our next volunteer Treasurer** (and a member of our Trustee Board? Have you some spare time - it might be that you recently retired or are retiring shortly from a leadership role in finance or as a senior manager or board member of a significant organisation?

The Bath Literary and Scientific Institution is one of Bath’s best kept secrets. From our Grade One listed buildings in Queen Square, we deliver an amazing year-round programme of world-class lectures (face to face and online). We also stage numerous events and exhibitions, drawing on our exceptional museum collection built up by previous generations of members in their travels throughout the world since our formation in 1824.

We are a successful charity and this (unpaid) role would be a key part of our leadership team; working to deliver our charitable mission of the promotion and advancement of Literature, Science and the Arts. Our current key challenges are progressing our ambitions to grow our audiences and develop what we do into a Cultural Hub for Bath and beyond. This volunteer role supervises a small team/ committee drawing on contractors and other volunteers.

If you are recently retired (or about to retire or have the time to help us) and are interested in a rewarding volunteer role at the heart of a small but special charity, please get in touch. You should be a committed individual with extensive senior level experience of commercial management or finance and enjoy working with like minded teams. Familiarity with working at Board level is sought plus experience in the charity sector an advantage but not essential.
