Priory Hospital Dorking is an 18 acute male admission hospital.

Our comprehensive multi-disciplinary team pride our selves on our ability to work both with enduring mental illness but also those who struggle with regulating emotions, acts of impulsivity and managing relationships.

The hospital is set in picturesque grounds overlooking the Surrey Hills and has extensive facilities including onsite Gym, Purpose Built OT Kitchen aswell as Occupational Facililties. You will also have free access to the onsite gym facilities.

The Assistant Psychologist will assist professional and clinical staff with the planning, implementation and evaluation of therapy and care plans in order to support the mental, Emotional, physical and social well-being of assigned clients, their carers and their families.

You will also assist with the planning, delivery and review of one-to-one and group therapy sessions, ensuring activities and interventions. More complex tasks, interventions or activities will be directed or supervised by a senior member of staff.

To be successful in this role you will need:
Essential:

- An appropriate degree, whilst working towards a professional registration/ accreditation.
- Previous experience in a mental health setting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- De-escalation and diversion skills
- Computer Literate
- A flexible, motivated and enthusiastic approach to work

Desirable:

- Training and experience in DBT
- Experience of Engaging others in Activities
