SMILE Through Sport is looking to add to their team of multi sports coaches to help deliver their work within the North East region. We are looking for a passionate and motivated individual who can deliver fun, safe and engaging activities to help disabled individuals become more active.

Applications are welcomed from individuals who:

- Are a Level 1 NGB coach or above in any sport.
- Have experience coaching within a range of sports.
- Are passionate about disability sport and working with individuals with a range of disabilities.

**Specific Responsibilities**

1. To plan and deliver coaching sessions in a range of educational and community settings.

2. Operate in accordance with national minimum standards for coaches, with the aim of exceeding these standards. Deliver activities in accordance with Smile Through Sport guidelines.

3. Plan, monitor, evaluate and produce both internal and external reports in line with Key Performance Indicators as required for sessions.

4. Collect and receipt participant fees as appropriate during sessions.

5. To ensure the health, safety, welfare and supervision of participants throughout the session.

6. Complete risk assessments as appropriate including carrying out appropriate checks on equipment, venues and facilities.

7. To administer the necessary procedures for any incident or accident that occurs to any participant under supervision.

8. To deliver inline with COVID-safe guidelines and procedures as determined by local and national government and Smile Through Sport.

9. Commit to continuous professional development and organisational training requirements, to ensure you maintain your self-development.

10. To ensure high standards of customer care and a quality service at all times.

**Essential Criteria**

Ability to organise, plan, deliver and evaluate sporting activities and sessions.

Strong communication, interpersonal, planning and organisational skills.

Be self-motivated.

Ability to work within a small team with a lot of time unsupervised.

Knowledge of safety requirements and child protection issues.

Understand the impact of disability on sport.

Qualification in Sports Coaching at Level 1.

Minimum of 3 months experience coaching in a sports/activity setting.

Passionate about disability sport and the inclusion of everyone in sport.

The motivation to provide high quality sporting sessions for individuals with a disability.

No adverse criminal record

Must be committed to Equal Opportunities.

Valid driving licence and regular access to effective means of transport (please see note above related to disability)

Flexible working week - must be available for some evening and weekend work

Able to set up, take down and transport equipment at and between venues under lone working conditions (please see note above related to disability)

**Desirable Criteria**

Understanding of the North East region and its sports partners/organisations.

A working knowledge of current sporting legislation initiatives and programmes.

Knowledge of Smile Through Sport and its work throughout the region.

Coaching qualification at Level 2 or above.

First Aid Qualification.

Safeguarding qualification.

Disability awareness qualification.

Experience of work with individuals with disabilities and mental health conditions.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £11.89 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
