Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom Benfield School Full time

Our school is one of six primary and secondary schools within the NEAT Academy Trust family of schools. At the heart of our trust is the aim to nurture, educate, achieve and transform the lives of all young people within the communities we serve across the North East. We have a national research school, which aims to build and strengthen networks of schools throughout the region and help them access effective education research and implement it in everyday practice.

Benfield School is a fully inclusive 11-18 school with a distinct ethos and a strong sense of support and loyalty. Excellent relationships between students and staff and a purposeful learning environment are evident in lessons and around the modernised site. With this foundation, students have a strong platform to be confident and happy and are able to achieve their aspirations.

We are looking to appoint a suitably skilled Assistant SENDCo to join our highly inclusive Trust. You will ensure that the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)/Learner Review process is conducted effectively across the school, in line with statutory and local requirements for reporting and in line with the Trust’s approach to person-centred reviews.

Your role will include coordinating and chairing EHCP meetings as well as Learner Review meetings for our students. Throughout the process, the Assistant SENDCo will be the main point of contact for external agencies and provide support to staff, parents and carers.

You must be strongly motivated and possess the character needed to work in a demanding and often challenging environment.

In return, we offer:

- A positive and caring ethos
- A team of hardworking, dedicated and friendly staff where everyone is valued
- A commitment to continuing professional development
- The benefit of working in a highly collaborative multi-academy trust

**Closing date: Noon on Friday 17th March 2023.**
- NEAT Academy Trust is committed to safer recruitment practice and promoting the welfare of children and expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required for all posts._
