**Position Summary**
**Responsibilities**
- Overseeing the day-to-day activities and quality control measures at WRC’s leading plastic facility
- Act as first-line manager and people manager for site operatives in the pre-sorting area
- Ensuring the plastic granulation area is maintained in a safe and efficient manner
- Compliance and enforcement of company Health and Safety standards at all times
- Lead and motivate staff to carry out site operations to the highest standard
- Operating all loading/unloading plant and machinery as required
- Quality control checking of operations to ensure compliance with licenses and reporting any faults to maintenance staff promptly
- Ensuring the company environmental policy is always complied with
- Ensuring all plant and machinery are maintained to ensure the minimum downtime
- Ensuring daily checks by operatives are carried out
- Organise work schedules to ensure the appropriate staff numbers are available
- Check and sign off timesheets
- Any other duties which could be reasonably expected of you in accordance with the role
**Skills Required**:
- Strong people management skillsand leadership qualities
- Experience managing a team of people is essential
- A firm but fair attitude to staff management
- Recycling yard experience is essential
- Bilingual capabilities are desirable with an ability to work with a range of different people
- Ability to work with heavy machinery is desirable but not essential as this role will be largely focused on personnel management
- Understand operation and maintenance requirements of mobile plant and machinery
- Calm, authoritative ability to make decisions within defined limits of authority
