Bartender/server

**Job description**

We have an all-day Bar/Restaurant/Café operation - more handily known as a _Bareca_. Here, we serve breakfast, all-day coffees & cakes, lunch, dinner and cocktails, operating across sixteen hours per day.

Our Bartenders are the centre of the Bareca’s operational wheel - mixing and serving cocktails, cold and hot drinks.

**Tasks**
- To ensure that the Bareca service standards are consistently delivered in relation to hot drinks, cold drinks and general service whilst on duty.
- To act in a cooperative way with colleagues from all departments to coordinate and enhance our customers’ experience.
- Any task reasonably expected by the General Manager or person to whom they have delegated appropriate authority.

**Qualifications and competencies**
- Ability to communicate harmoniously and positively with customers and colleagues, creating a productive working environment.
- Ability to be pro-active at the customer interface, interacting with customers every day and providing an example to other team members.
- A good working understanding of the hotel booking and billing system (PMS), the website and the EPoS system.
- Dependability — Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
- Attention to Detail — Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
- Integrity — you must be honest and ethical.
- Self Control — this job requires you to maintain composure, keeping emotions in check, avoiding aggressive behaviour, even in very difficult situations.

**Lines of communication**

This position reports to the Bareca Manager.

**Working conditions and shifts**

The shifts will vary but will usually include day and evening shifts and will include weekend work.

Contract as follows:

- Annualised Minimum Hours - where we guarantee a minimum number of hours over a twelve month period. For example 1,924 annually (including holidays) is equivalent to 37 hours per week. In each pay period you are paid for the number of hours worked, but we guarantee the minimum over twelve months.

or
- Casual Hourly Paid - where there is no minimum hours guarantee and staff are simply paid for the number of hours worked in each department according to the agreed hourly rate.

We will be offering a mix of both types of contract and some team members may combine work in this department with shifts in another department.
