East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust is looking for an exceptional leader who is passionate about safeguarding children, young people and adults. Within your role as Head of Safeguarding you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day corporate and strategic safeguarding functions and statutory duties required across the Trust. You will ensure that the Trust Board is assured of the compliance requirements for safeguarding children, young people and adults across our 5 sites (3 acute hospitals and 2 non acute hospitals) to ensure that they maintain the statutory duties required for the Trust.

Reporting to the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, this is a senior level role that will require you to be a strong leader and team player, with excellent communication skills at all levels, adaptable, committed, ability to work autonomously, well organised, and work well under pressure. You will be required to deal with complex and challenging issues affecting patients, and be an expert resource to the Board, Trust and the safeguarding team.

Together with the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, the post holder will provide, advice, guidance, consultation, and education to the workforce on the expected standards of safe and effective the implementation of the Safeguarding Adult Policy, Safeguarding Children Policy, and other relevant safeguarding procedures.
