We are currently seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to provide crucial veterinary input across various areas of our operations. This full-time permanent role is based at our state-of-the-art facility in Belton, just outside Loughborough. - Collaborate with our Named Veterinary Surgeon(s) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
- Develop and maintain expertise in laboratory animal science and related disciplines through ongoing education and training.
- Provide veterinary cover for animal units and clinical services at our facilities.
- Support the implementation of new techniques, procedures, and technologies to enhance animal care and welfare.
- Engage with stakeholders to promote a culture of care and professionalism within the company.
- Provide advice and assistance to staff on the implementation of the three Rs (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) principles.
- Deputise for senior veterinary staff as needed and support staff training and development.
- Comply with regulatory, quality, and health and safety procedures, including maintaining records and obtaining necessary accreditations.

Qualifications:

**Education and Qualifications**:

- Veterinary degree with professional registration with the RCVS.

**Work Experience and Knowledge**:

- Experience in general practice or laboratory animal care, including surgical skills.
- Auditing or inspection experience is advantageous.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.

**Technical/Specialist Skills**:

- Strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams.
- Proficiency in surgical procedures and anaesthesia.
- Interest or experience in animal ethics, welfare science, genetics, or related disciplines is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to evolving challenges.
