- **About the role**_**:
A wonderful school based in BS14, Bristol are looking for a committed, skilled & caring Teaching assistant.
You will be working 1:1 with a child who has high needs.
This exciting role is a full time position working Monday - Friday, 8:30am-3:25pm**.**
You will need to have the ability to stay calm in stressful situations, manage & deesculate challenging behaviour in a positive way.
You will need to have excellent communication skills, as you will be working closely with the Class teacher & a Teaching assistant. You're joining a welcoming friendly team who work closely together to promote their core values "love learning, to embrace challenge, to understand how to show and earn respect and how to contribute towards our community"
- **Your role will involve**_:
- Providing support to the Teacher by supporting the child with High needs
- Supervise the child, ensuring their safety and to help them understand the information presented.
- Build a trusting relationship with all pupils and communicate according to their understanding.
- Promote class interaction and ensure the child engages throughout the lessons.
- Create a Safe, Happy & supportive environment.
- Assist the child with practical activities using a variety of teaching aids.
- Good Communication with parents and carers about their progress, achievements and any problems.
- Promote good behaviour
- Accompany teaching staff and pupils on school trips
