**Main Purpose of the Job**

To work as part of a team to encouraging independence and participation while providing care and support for

the Residents.

**Relationships**:
**a) Responsible to**:
The Managers and Resident’s

**b) Responsible For**:
Carrying out duties in a manner which complies with the Stanbeck’s policies and procedures, CQC Regulations and conforms to Health and Safety legislation

**c) Liaison with**:
Managers, Staff, Resident’s, their family, Doctors, District Nurses, Social Workers and other professionals when appropriate.

**Main tasks of Job**
- Comply with the philosophy, policies and procedures
- Complete all documentation relevant to your position and the activities / tasks you carry out during your shift.
- Assist in the development, preparation, monitoring, and review of care, personal plans and other Documentation.
- Provide personal care for each Resident’s according to their needs and plan of care.
- Preparing and cooking Meals.
- Washing and drying Resident’s clothing and bedding
- Maintaining the cleaning Routine within Stanbeck (House Keeping) to ensuring the environment is maintained, including caring of plants.
- Encourage and assist Resident’s to participate in activities.
- Escort Resident’s to appointments and on other occasions if required.
- Attend reviews and other meetings when required
- Work on a flexible bases as required by the Manager
- Attend and participate in supervision and appraisal sessions
- Maintain your own Continual professional development (CPD)
- Attend and complete training courses as required
- Attend and participate in staff meetings
- Attend and support Resident’s Meetings
- When appropriate Mentoring other staff
- To demonstrate attitudes and beliefs consistent with being person centred.
- To display awareness, and evidence on a daily basis, of why feelings matter most to individuals.
- To demonstrate commitment to and skills in the person-centred approach ‘Being a Butterfly’, effectively minimising neutral care.
- To show evidence of being focused on people’s feelings when providing personal care and knowing how to turn a task into positive social interaction.
- To demonstrate within the team a relaxed manner and a skill in ‘going with the flow’ emphasising people’s individual needs and not tasks and routines whilst ensuring work requirements are met.
- To present a positive approach, not using controlling language and actions towards people.
- To display a sense of spontaneity and ability to change the moment positively for people.
- To seek to remove all potential controlling elements of care cultures and to remove all features of a ‘them and us’ care approach.
- To effectively maintain care records that emphasise and can be measured as delivering on a daily basis a person-centred approach.
- To contribute positively to a team approach in being person centred with one another.
- To participate in and implement learning which develops one’s own emotional self-awareness and a person-centred approach towards others.
- To meet an individual’s physical and personal care needs to a high-quality standard and with sensitivity.
- To undertake and meet all legal requirements within a context of promoting individuals’ rights and measuring/reducing elements of risk.
- To know how to and demonstrate evidence of increasing individual’s well-being and reducing ill being.
- To support families, friends and supporters of people experiencing a dementia or have Learning difficulties, balancing this with the promotion of a person-centred approach to individuals.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: From £10.42 per hour

Day range:

- Every weekend
- Monday to Friday

Shift:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- Night shift
