The Adults and Specialist Mental Health Directorate are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, experienced, Registered Mental Health Nurse to become Head of Nursing for our Primary Care and Community Services within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Responsible to the Associate Director of Nursing and Quality, the Head of Nursing will work together with the General Manager and Associate Clinical Director as part of the pathway triumvirate to ensure good governance of services within the portfolio providing professional and compassionate leadership.

The post holder will be expected to provide support and guidance and to represent the diversity of nursing roles within the directorate. They will need to demonstrate their professional credibility and be a visible member of the Directorate Management Team.

The post holder will continue to build on the success of the organisation, strengthening and enhancing pursuit of the Trust’s strategy, vision and PRIDE values in promoting the development of our services.

The role will require close working with the Quality Matron, and will ensure that professional nursing standards are maintained, and the delivery of nursing care is recovery focused, patient centred and to the highest quality

As the senior nurse in the pathway, you will carry responsibility to act as a strong role model for all colleagues by demonstrating credibility and visibility, strong commitment to identifying development opportunities, celebrating success, and encouraging creativity, innovation, and excellence in practice.

- Provide support, guidance and represent the broad views of nurses within the services and to achieve a level of visibility that enables these goals to be met.
- As a key member of the pathway Directorate leadership structure, must be able to be proactive and work effectively with the Associate Clinical Director; General Manager, multi-disciplinary leadership teams and external partners to demonstrate effective nursing leadership and provide specialist nursing advice across all areas of the services within designated portfolio.
- Interpret national guidance in relation to the relevant services across all age groups and advise on the implementation of the quality drivers arising from national enquiries and work collaboratively with clinicians and managers and hold them professionally to account for delivery and implementation.
- Lead on the implementation of the key aspects of the CPFT Nursing Strategy and provide ongoing support for regular reviews of the strategy
- Work closely with Matrons and Service Managers to ensure clinicians, managers and other staff within service areas are providing optimum quality of care in line with national healthcare standards including CQC, local healthcare targets and NICE guidance.
- Effectively manage the overall nursing issues within allocated portfolio.
- Lead patient safety and Clinical Governance across portfolio of services ensuring the implementation of national and local Quality & Safety initiatives.
