Overlooking the historic City Walls and Monk Bar, the hotel is within walking distance of York Minster and other main attractions. The DoubleTree by Hilton York comprises of 143 air-conditioned guest rooms, The Yorkshire Bar and Grill, The Orangery, a 24 hour fitness centre and 2,400 sq. ft. of flexible, state-of-the art event space, which is an ideal setting for weddings, special events, conferences, and meetings for up to 250 delegates.

**THE ROLE**

We are looking for a motivated and passionate person to join our team as our **Bartender**. They will be responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to our guests. You will have bartender experience and will be able to provide excellent customer service, ensuring our guests have an enjoyable and memorable experience.

**RESPSONSIBILITIES**

Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks.
Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders and providing recommendations.
Mix ingredients to create classic and innovative cocktails according to recipes or customer preferences.
Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for alcohol consumption.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including restocking supplies and cleaning glasses and utensils.
Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, processing payments and providing change.
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, ensuring the bar area is clean and free from hazards.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the bar.

Ensure all guests receive efficient Bar service at all times.

Ensure hotel guests are served alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with hotel policy, taking every opportunity to upsell.

Follow company procedures for payment by cash, cheque, credit card and company/guest accounts and record appropriately.

Ensure the Bar and service areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.

Ensure Bar stocks are rotated and displayed according to company guidelines, thus ensuring all products are served in good condition.

Be fully aware of all current liquor licensing laws and follow such regulations strictly.

Follow the safe working practices laid down when changing cellar equipment.

Be fully aware of and strictly observe all Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations. This to include the 1990 Food safety Act.

Accept other duties as directed by superiors to ensure the efficient operation of the Food and Beverage department. This may include:
1. Table service of wine and drinks

2. Food service

3. Assistance with training of team members.

Attend training when required.

**PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
