Handy Man

**Overview**:Our nurseries are dedicated to providing the best possible learning experience for children in a loving and friendly atmosphere while embedding our ethos of care, nurture, teach.

**Job Purpose**: To provide a handyman service to a group of nurseries (based in the Midlands and the Southern Counties) ensuring that highest level of service is provided to the customer, whilst supporting the business.

**Key Relationships**:
**Internal **- Facilities Manager, Nursery Managers, Head of Operations, Support Office Functions

**External **- Contractors

**Key Roles & Responsibilities**:
You must be well-organised with strong general repair skills. A keen eye for detail and a willingness to travel anywhere South of Milton Keynes down to South London and West as far as Cheltenham.

A bias in plumbing or electrical would be a distinct advantage.

**Responsibilities**
- Perform maintenance and light repairs.
- Perform routine landscaping of the grounds.
- Paint and fill gaps or crevices (internally or externally).
- Undertake light installation and building of cabinets and children’s toys (flat packs).
- Repair equipment or appliances.
- Assist contractors with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs (where needed).
- Undertake duties as assigned by the FM or emergency tasks (e.g. salt distribution in inclement weather)
- Identify and report the need for major repairs.

**Requirements and skills**
- Proven experience as handyman.
- Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment.
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems.
- Good communication ability.
- Well-organised and apt in problem-solving.
- Attention to detail.
- Willing to travel further afield when required.
