**Job Purpose**:
To manage the day to day running of the Sheet metal / Fabrication functions.

To ensure that production is to a consistently high quality standard.

Work closely with other functions enabling achievement of the delivery schedule.

**Key Responsibilities**:
The key responsibilities for the role are:

- Provide a good and consistent role model for the team members
- Management of Health and Safety
- Effective use of resources to meet the production plan
- Maintain a flexible team
- Continuous improvement of the products and processes

The job function involves the full control over what happens in the department including:

- Health and Safety
- Personnel
- Working with MRP System
- Department Planning
- Manufacturing Process / Output
- Equipment and Tools
- Generating reports using Microsoft

Activities will generally include:
**Production**:

- Work as part of a cross-functional team to deliver the delivery plan
- Generate detailed planning from production schedule to achieve production targets with efficient use of the production labour.
- Manage holidays of the team to ensure maximum flexibility at all times
- Ensure that the best practice methods are shared and used
- Monitor and control scrap and re-work
- Stock control, monitor and request replenishment

**People**:

- Report regularly to the Manufacturing Manger progress and issues
- Regularly communicate to the team via the appropriate method
- Guide, control and manage the team - including discipline and recruitment
- Provide mentoring and development of the team members in order to maintain a flexible and motivated workforce.

**Standards**:

- Support and maintain the company quality standards and procedures.

**Improvements**:

- Continually review the production process with a view to generating lean improvements

Work as part of a cross-functional team in business, product and process improvement initiatives.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £16.00 per hour
