Serve Talent have partnered with a successful Engineering business to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for their manufacturing facility based in Norwich, Norfolk.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To manage projects and the design process from start to finish competently.
- To maintain and improve the quality of the company products and systems within the drawing office;
- Support meetings with attendance and reports as required;
- To respond, as necessary, to technical queries raised by other departments and suppliers;
- To aid Sales, Project Management and Service in customer support;
- To aid Planning Department to generate Works Orders and produce routings, when required.
- To work the hours necessary to carry out the necessary duties. This will entail working a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required;
- Carry out other tasks as may be reasonably requested by the Line Manager;
- Compliance with Health and Safety procedures and good housekeeping.

**Education / Qualification Requirements**:

- HNC Level 4 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.

**Experience and Knowledge Requirements**:
**Essential**:

- Experience in Solidworks.
- Experience and an understanding of BS8888;
- Experience of the manufacturing environment;
- Experience in the design of capital equipment (preferably rotating equipment).

**Desirable**:

- Experience in designing products for Ex hazardous areas;
**Skills and Competency Requirements**:

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Proactive team player with excellent interpersonal and cross-functional working skills;
- Capable of prioritising, planning and organising effectively in order to achieve objectives;
- Highly self-motivated with a genuine desire to succeed and help move the business forward;
- Confident with Microsoft Office packages;
- Own strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
