Practice Educator for Health Care Support Workers

Foster an environment which values education as part of the philosophy of the practice area.
Support the recruitment and induction of Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs)
Lead on induction content and implementation of Care certificate assessment for all newly appointed HCSWs
Improve the patient experience and care standards across the integrated Trust by leading and developing competency assessment documents for HCSWs
Actively participate in national and corporate projects.
Demonstrate a commitment towards the development of professional and clinical practice (self and others).
Spend 50% of role in the clinical practice area and allocate 20% of role to corporate education support.
Lead and ensure mentorship and pastoral support for new HCSWs occurs
Identify and coordinate the HCSWs to undertake apprenticeships appropriate to role in collaboration with the Head of OD, Engagement & Leadership and Head of Nursing for Practice Development & Education
Lead and develop a HCSWs development strategy/pathway in collaboration with stakeholders and Head of Nursing for Practice development & Education
Lead and develop HCSWs study days in line with organisational priorities
To act as a role model and demonstrate expertise in delivering evidence based practice.
To work with HCSWs in clinical practice to enable them to achieve the required learning outcomes and competencies required. To actively participate in campaigns related to improving the patients experience.
To work clinically in practice areas 50% of the time in an educational capacity and provide clinical education in practice
To work with the wider Practice Education team to deliver effective educational study days across the Trust and to the multi-disciplinary team.
Provide ongoing support to all HCSWs across the integrated Trust and to ensure that the role of the HCSWs is promoted across the multi-professional groups
To lead a support network for the implementation of the Care certificate and educational development of HCSWs
