An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 4 Therapy Technician to join the Older Persons team at Bristol Royal Infirmary This is a full time post (37.5 hours per week) for a 12 month period.

You will support the delivery of Older Persons therapy to inpatient wards at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. This post will be supported by the integrated therapy team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Band 3 Therapy Technicians.

The Older Persons Therapy Team is an integrated therapy team who deliver an effective and co-ordinated specialist service across the frailty and care of the elderly pathways, including Emergency Department, Older Persons Assessment Unit and Care of the Elderly wards. We are a large team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and therapy technicians who have a passion for improving care for older people in an acute hospital setting. We are a friendly, sociable, organised and supportive team.

Job Purpose
- Working with both Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists the Technician will assist with the assessment, implementation of treatment programmes and management of patients seen by the older persons therapy team. Overall responsibility for the therapy management of the patient remains with the registered Therapists.
- The post-holder will work under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered therapist and will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive assessment and rehabilitation service for patients.
- The post holder will deliver a defined range of activities, which will include an element of problem solving and use of initiative usually within a written plan as part of an integrated pathway.
