**Job Title**:
**Yard Storeman**
**Location**:
**Birmingham, England**
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Receiving Goods**:
- Unload deliveries and check the contents against delivery notes and purchase orders.
- Inspect materials and equipment for any damage and report discrepancies or issues to the suppliers.
- Accurately document and record incoming goods.
**Storage Management**:
- Organize and store materials and equipment in designated areas within the yard.
- Ensure proper storage to prevent damage and facilitate easy retrieval.
- Maintain a neat, organized, and safe yard environment.
**Inventory Control**:
- Conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Use inventory management systems to update stock levels and track inventory movements.
- Report low stock levels and coordinate with Operations to reorder supplies as needed.
**Order Fulfilment**:
- Pick and prepare orders for dispatch accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure materials are properly labelled and packaged for delivery.
- Coordinate with Teams to schedule and arrange for the collection/distribution of goods.
**Health and Safety Compliance**:
- Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Operate yard equipment safely and in accordance with training.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly to the Operations Manager.
**Maintenance and Housekeeping**:
- Regularly inspect yard equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks as required.
- Loading/Unloading of vehicles.
- Keep the yard clean and free of debris to ensure operational efficiency.
**Documentation and Reporting**:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all yard activities.
- Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and other relevant data for the fleet.
- Communicate effectively with other departments.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
**Experience**:
- Previous experience in a yard or storesman role is preferred.
- Experience with inventory management systems.
**Skills**:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and documentation.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic computer skills.
- Driving Licence
**Working Conditions**:
**Physical Demands**:
- Ability to lift and move heavy items.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Working in various outdoor weather conditions, including rain, heat, and cold.
**Work Hours**:
- Typically full-time, with possible shifts or overtime depending on business needs. Monday - Friday - 0700 - 1600.
**Salary**:
**Range: £26,770 to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience and location.
