**Microbiology Specialist**
**Kingston upon Hull**, **East Yorkshire**

**The Role**:
As a Microbiology Specialist you will work closely with the Micro Team Leader and the wider Microbiology team to support all factory and technical teams to ensure high levels of microbiological quality assurance are achieved and consistently maintained. In this role you'll:

- Focus on factory routine monitoring, testing, validation and projects.
- Lead microbiological quality assurance improvement activities with the aim of improvement in quality standards.
- Initiate and document investigations using problem solving skills to enable effective root causing of quality issues and implementation of corrective and preventative measures.
- Work flexibly with the Micro Team Leader Leader/Site Hygienist to ensure all new factory projects and existing equipment/facilities are appropriately supported with regard to hygienic design and validation requirements.
- Develop good working relationships and participating in multidisciplinary teams within the factory to be able to drive microbiological quality improvements.
- Delivery of microbiological training for Operations, Technical and Quality.
- Trending of microbiological data to ensure deviations from normal levels are identified and actioned in a timely manner.
- Work flexibly with the Micro Team Leader and other members of the microbiology team to ensure all routine, validation and revalidation activities are resourced appropriately and effectively supported.
- Contribute to improved ways of working to increase the departments cost effectiveness.
- Support the Micro Team Leader in developing team using the performance and development process.

**You’ll succeed if you have the following experience & qualifications**
- Strong knowledge within a Factory and relevant processes.
- 4 years relevant professional experience in Microbiology and/or Quality based function.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
