With extensive experience of delivering services to children and young people who have experienced difficulties in mainstream schools and whose education has irretrievably broken down, we support learners to achieve academic and vocational targets and progress into education, training, and employment.

Our Catch22 Include School Norfolk is targeted at young people who fall into high risk groups in key stage 3 and 4, including those who are excluded or at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools or Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), and those with social, emotional and/or mental health needs (SEMH) or special educational needs (SEN).

**Job Description**:

We are looking for an ambitious Teaching Assistant who can work in partnership with our Teacher to motivate and inspire a group of learners who have had differing levels of experiences with Education up until now. The ideal Teaching Assistant will support learners to build up their confidence and belief in themselves. You will support our students to see they have potential and the possibility of a bright future ahead of them while inspiring them and helping them see the value in the work that they do.

**As a Teaching Assistant your responsibilities will include**:

- Working with individual or groups of children, assisting in ensuring pupils are kept on task and complete activities set by teachers**.**:

- Dealing with behavioural and special needs issues in conjunction with the teacher.
- Delivery of SEN interventions.
- Helping to implement lesson plans, aims and contents with the teacher.
- Providing feedback to pupils.
- Taking charge of small groups of pupils for defined activities.
- Supporting and working with the teacher during assessments and challenge students in order for them to grow and develop.

**Qualifications**:

- Trained at least to NVQ2 standard.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.

**Essential Skills and Experience**
- Experience of teaching children with EAL, SEN, Speech and language difficulties and other complex needs.
- Knowledge of the statutory requirements of equal opportunities, discrimination, health and safety, SEN & safeguarding of children.
- High expectations of pupils’ behaviour and clear strategies for working with challenging pupils.
- Ability to motivate and encourage children appropriately.
- Ability to work independently, supported by the teacher, with groups of or individual pupils.

Additional Information
**Salary: £21,600.00 - £25,000.00 per annum FTE***: £19,303.84 - £22,342.40 pro rata**

Full time - permanent contract

This role is for 41 working weeks per annum, term time plus 2 weeks.
