**Position Overview**: We are seeking a skilled and experienced welder/fabricator to join our team. As a welder/fabricator, you will be responsible for producing high-quality welded steel components and structures, utilizing your expertise in welding and fabrication techniques. Your precision, attention to detail, and commitment to safety will contribute to the successful completion of various projects.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Welding and Fabrication**: Perform welding and fabrication tasks according to specifications and technical drawings. Proficient in the use of various welding techniques such as Arc, MIG and TIG.

2. **Material Preparation**: Prepare steel materials for welding by cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces. Ensure materials are free from impurities that could affect the welding process.

3. **Assembly**: Assemble steel components and structures based on project requirements. Ensure accurate alignment, measurements, and proper fitment of parts before welding.

4. **Weld Inspection**: Conduct visual inspections of welded joints to identify and correct any defects or irregularities. Ensure welds meet quality and safety standards.

5. **Safety Compliance**: Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines while operating welding equipment, handling materials, and working in the fabrication area. Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

6. **Equipment Maintenance**: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

7. **Problem Solving**: Identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise during the welding and fabrication process. Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to find effective solutions.

8. **Quality Control**:Maintain a high level of quality in welding and fabrication work. Ensure finished products meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations.

9. **Documentation**:Maintain accurate records of work performed, including welding parameters, materials used, and time spent on various tasks.

10. **Team Collaboration**: Collaborate with fellow welders, fabricators, engineers, and other team members to achieve project goals. Communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and project progression.

**Essential Skills**:

- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Steel Welder/Fabricator or similar role.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Arc.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of materials, and welding equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Safety-conscious mindset with a thorough understanding of welding safety protocols.
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work well within a team.

**Desirable**:

- Welding certification(s).
- Fork Lift Licence
- Manual Handling Training
- Full Driving Licence
