**Food Technologist**

Working alongside the R&D team to ensure the successful development of ingredient formulations and recipes, you will also be responsible for ensuring the smooth transition of these into the manufacturing process as well as having involvement in the development and refining of prototypes in line with customer requirements. The role will involve working in partnership with our customer and Newly Weds Foods Sales Team within budgets and deadlines to successfully secure new business whilst retaining and developing existing business.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Liaising with Account Managers to support the customer base by ensuring that preparation is made to participate in customer presentations and to have a sound working knowledge of the customers markets and products
- Develop ingredient formulas and recipes appropriate to supplying added value products, involving the consideration of;
- **Cost, availability, functionality and legislative status**:

- **Customer acceptability**:

- **Purchasing policy regarding chosen suppliers**:

- Managing and developing the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and ensuring ways of working reflect the needs of the business, with products seamlessly transferred into our plants
- Assist with driving efficiency to eliminate waste and product write offs within our plants
- Product Portfolio Management
- Working with Operations, R&D and Quality to ensure our product portfolio is in the best format for our plants to manufacture
- Being the key link between R&D and Manufacturing for efficiency improvement projects and continuous improvement of product manufacture and portfolio management (problematic products and processes)
- Ensure Newly Weds Foods extracts the most value from our products, whilst maintaining product integrity and consistency
- Work with the Commercial and R&D Teams to identify opportunities to engage key customers in cost out projects.
- Having the ability to travel both within the UK and internationally specifically Asia and America if and when required is essential for this role

**Qualifications & Experience**
- A Degree in Food Science or related discipline is essential
- Previous experience from a similar background is preferred (but not essential)
- Full, clean driving licence

Hours of Work are 37½ hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm with one hour for lunch. A degree of flexibility may be required during busy periods to meet the demands of the business.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
