**About THE ROLE**

We’re seeking an exceptional singing and choral leader to grow our massed singing activities in schools. Someone who will make a difference to the lives of hundreds of young people across West Sussex. Someone who understands the incredible power that choral singing has to improve wellbeing and confidence.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering our programme of locality school choral projects and massed singing events. Additionally, you will lead a team of fellow singing practitioners to expand the opportunities for schools and students.

This role will realise the Hub’s school singing strategy, which is committed to increasing access to, and participation in, high-quality singing and choral opportunities in schools.

This role requires creative thinking as well as pragmatic coordination skills. You will build effective partnerships to meet the needs of children & young people across different communities to deliver the widest range of accessible singing activities in schools.

The post holder will share responsibility for developing and improving the work of West Sussex Music, including implementation of the Hub’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion strategy, and Youth Voice strategy across its provision.

This position is being offered on a permanent full-time basis, or part-time 0.8fte (4 days per week). The post will be based in **Horsham** and involves extensive travel across West Sussex and occasional weekend and evening commitments, so flexibility is required.

**Salary & Benefits: £30,000 - £36,000 **Dependent on experience. 25 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays), enhanced company pension.

The operational delivery of the Hub’s school singing strategy.

Leading the Hub’s programme of school locality massed singing events [Little Big Sings, Big Sings, and Sings Live], the school singing CPD programme, large-scale choral concerts, and promoting choral progression pathways.

Leading the Hub’s team of massed singing practitioners.

Developing partnerships and promoting the Hub’s singing opportunities.

**Role Summary**:
The post holder reports to the Head of Learning and through that postholder to the CEO.

This post coordinates the operational delivery of the Hub’s school singing strategy.

**Key Tasks and Activities**

**Core corporate responsibilities**:

- **Operational planning and review **- Shared responsibility for the development of WSM’s offer to children & young people and schools.
- **Organisational reporting and monitoring **- Shared responsibility for measuring the impact of WSM’s provision, including evaluations and data collection.
- **Music Education Hub reporting **- Contribute to the annual data return and interim reporting for Arts Council England and Hub Board on relevant activity.
- **Advocacy **- Fulfil the vision and mission of WSM, embody its values, and promote WSM’s opportunities for children & young people and schools.
- **Statutory compliance responsibility **- support all aspects of Data Protection, Health & Safety and Safeguarding including policy development and review, and implementation.
- **Equity, Diversity and Inclusion**:

- all aspects of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, as well as Youth Voice, including policy development and review, and implementation.

**Key Tasks and Activities**

- **School locality singing events - **Create and lead the schools’ programme of Little Big Sings, Big Sings and Sings Live events.
