Pregnancy Advisory Service

Work in accordance with NMC guidelines for Professional Practice & the wider regulatory frameworks of the Abortion Act 1967 & Health & Social Care Act as well as STG clinical policies and procedures. Ensure that the client understands options in relation to the pregnancy &, if choosing termination, meets the ground of the Abortion Act. Provide information on STI Testing, undertake tests and provide results and also discuss, inform and confirm the clients future choice of contraception. Carefully check for and implement any procedure indicated on client case notes, including administering medication for Medical Abortion procedures or cervical preparation.

Carry out post treatment check-ups by assessing the physical condition of the client ,discussing any concerns and escalating appropriately. Complete relevant paperwork and in the event of any problems escalate accordingly. Care for and support clients undergoing surgical treatments. This could include general anaesthetic, conscious sedation or local anaesthetic The main duties and job description of the post is as advertised.
