**One of the UK’s leading exporters of food and drink produce, exporting an exceptional product range to businesses worldwide is currently on the look-out for a Freight Forwarder to join our team.**

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who would like to continue their career in the Freight team. You will be working in a fast paced environment ensuring day to day Freight Forwarder duties are performed to a high standard, reporting to Head of Logistics.

You will be responsible for makes sure all bases are covered in the process of transporting goods from A to B. You'll organise shipments through an established network of contacts, using the services of shipping lines, airlines, road and rail freight operators.

Extensive experience in import/export freight is essential, preferably in a global or multinational organizations. You will also need to demonstrate a deep understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures and logistics operations, as well as UK import/export regulations and compliance requirements, including customs documentation and trade agreements.

**Role & Responsibilities**
- Organising air, sea & road freight shipments
- Negotiating freight rates
- Quoting freight rates to clients &/or overseas agents / partners
- Arranging customs clearance
- Booking cargo space
- Cutting & issuing airway bills (MAWB & HAWB)
- Monitoring shipments
- Keeping customers informed of progress
- Key account management
- Checking & approving suppliers invoices for payment
- Plan and co-ordinate air, sea & road freight shipments
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and hauliers
- Negotiate rates with airlines, shipping lines and other suppliers
- Ensure cargo is shipped in accordance with customer requirements
- Prepare documentation and ensure compliance with customs regulations in country of final destination

**Education, skills and experience**:

- Good organisational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to handle pressured situations in a professional and polite manner
- Strong IT skills
- Experience with freight software CargoWise would be beneficial but not essential

**Job Types**: Permanent, Full-time

**Salary**: From £30,000.00 per year
