**Job title**:Human Factors Specialist

**Salary**: £53,928

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Coordinating and leading Safety Critical Task screening workshops to involve stakeholders in the Assessment process and facilitate peer review
- Collaborating closely with site Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) and High Hazard teams to champion cutting-edge practices in high hazard risk categorisation
- Reporting and reviewing findings and recommendations to the Applicable Technical Authorities agreeing and recording appropriate actions to ensure sufficient safeguards are in place
- Performing hierarchical task analysis and human failure analysis, unlocking insights to enhance safety protocols
- Engaging in the continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) through review and refinement
- Partnering with Engineering teams to ensure robust identification and control of Safety Critical Tasks, seamlessly integrating these into SOPs
- Supporting the Basis of Safety through the execution of diverse responsibilities

**Your skills and experiences**:
Essential:

- Knowledge and experience of the human factors methods involved in safety assessments for high hazard processes
- Competency and proficiency of human factors methods involved in the design lifecycle of process, plant, and equipment
- Experience of providing human factors expertise to accident or incident investigations

Desirable:

- Human Factors qualification
- Working towards Chartership, or qualified to become chartered through a relevant institution (e.g. CIEHF)
- Experience in a relevant industry such as engineering/manufacturing
