**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**POST**: Volunteer Practitioner

**REPORTS TO**: Volunteer Lead

**HOURS**: 22.2

**SALARY**: £22,767.00 (FTE)

**LOCATION**: South Lakeland - Office Based - Kendal

**PURPOSE AND KEY OBJECTIVES**

The primary purpose and key objective of the Volunteer Practitioner is to:

- Recruit, retain and manage our volunteers for individual CSSL directorates.
- We currently have a team of approximately 60 regular volunteers, plus Volunteer Champions and volunteers for one off opportunities. We are looking to grow this team and develop our volunteer led programme.
- Contribute to the development and ongoing work of the Carer Support South Lakes

**MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Role managing a growing team of volunteers; providing support, training and effective communication.
- Recruiting a diverse range of volunteers.
- Inducting and training new volunteers.
- Writing a monthly E-newsletter
- Managing volunteer data through CSSL databases.
- Working with the staff team to identify and write role descriptions for new volunteering opportunities.
- Networking and liaising with other charitable organisations regarding volunteering opportunities.
- Working with the Volunteer Lead on other administrative tasks, such as managing referral information.
- Working as part of a team with other staff and volunteers, supporting with cover and additional tasks where necessary.
- Adhering to and managing Carer Support South Lakes Lone Working Policy in relation to Volunteers.

**ORGANISATIONAL REQUIREMENTS OF EMPLOYEES**
- Carry out duties in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements
- Carry out duties in accordance with CSSL policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Confidentiality, Equal Opportunities and Data Protection
- Contribute to the overall achievement of CSSL mission and objectives
- Ensure the values of CSSL are upheld across the organisation
- Assist CSSL in Community Fundraising initiatives
- Promote CSSL social enterprise initiatives
- Participate in fundraising activities with and on behalf of CSSL
- Participate as part of the requirements of CSSL to meeting their ISO 9001 Quality Award standards
- Provide a supportive working environment to all staff and Volunteers
- Attend regular supervisions, staff and team meetings as requested
- Contribute to research and reports
