Greenwich, United Kingdom University of Greenwich Full time

Do you want to help shape the future of strategic planning, statutory data returns and management information at the University of Greenwich?

An exciting opportunity has come available to work closely with the Director of Strategic Planning and Business Intelligence and the directorate’s senior management team to develop a sector leading function that provides an excellent service to the University.

The Head of Planning will play a key role in shaping the directorate’s ambitions to deliver excellent data and management information to inform key business decision-making and ensure the institution meets its statutory data commitments.

The role will be expected to provide both hands-on capability and leadership in ensuring the University effectively and efficiently meets its data return obligations. It will also work across the span of the directorate’s responsibilities and with a range of internal stakeholders bringing enthusiasm, expertise and a strong customer-focused mindset to a range of projects and business-as-usual areas of work. This could entail helping to develop a sector leading approach to business planning, embedding new approaches to student number planning and academic workload planning, shaping the directorate to maximise its performance in statutory returns in a post-Data Futures world and any such strategic projects where input from the directorate is required.

A strong grasp of project management principles and user-centred design will be advantageous. The role-holder will be a focal point for the provision of strategic management information and will provide advice and guidance to internal audiences on statutory returns, data insights and governance.

The post is being offered on a part-time and permanent basis. There is flexibility on the part-time nature of the role dependent on the circumstances of the applicant. The post will be based at the Greenwich campus and will be eligible for flexible working (e.g. a mix of days working from home and in the office).
