S**enior Research Officer (NORTHERN IRELAND ASSEMBLY)**

**Salary**: £65,051 - £67,024 + holiday pay + pension
**Location**: Belfast, Hybrid

**Job Purpose**:
Lead a team providing evidence-based research for legislative and scrutiny needs, ensuring delivery of high-quality services to the Assembly and Assembly Commission.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage RaISe team, overseeing research demands and delivering evidence-based analyses.
- Lead team planning and delivery of work programs aligned with Assembly responsibilities.
- Maintain service standards, meet deadlines, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Foster communication with clients for setting and achieving realistic targets.
- Establish networks to support service development and improvement.
- Lead cross-team initiatives and oversee implementation of RaISe projects.
- Ensure all outputs meet RaISe standards for evidence-based analysis.
- Monitor and review team performance, providing accountability for services.
- Plan and deliver training programs for stakeholders.
- Contribute to RaISe's development and budgetary planning processes.
- Manage resources effectively, including external research support when needed.
- Interface with key customers, enhancing relationships and negotiation skills.
- Manage staff training and development, ensuring compliance with policies.
- Maintain information and records in accordance with established policies.

**Essential Criteria**:

- **Honours degree or equivalent with 2:1 classification.**:

- **Minimum 5 years' experience in research or information provision.**:

- **2 years' experience in managing research tasks.**:

- **Minimum 3 years' experience in making oral presentations based on research.**

**Shortlisting Criteria**:

- Minimum 12 months' experience in leading a research team.
