**Job and Person Specification**

**Job Title: Road Sweeper Operator/ Class 2 Driver**

**Overall Job Purpose**:We are looking for a capable road sweeper operator to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our road network. Your duties will include driving specialised vehicles, operating vehicle controls and attachments, and gathering refuse and debris for collection.

To be successful as a road sweeper operator, you should possess advanced skills in operating left hand drive road sweeping vehicles and equipment and demonstrate knowledge of safety regulations.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Operating specialised vehicles
- Filling the road sweeper's water tanks and operating rotary brushes and water spray controls.
- Clearing rubbish, debris, snow, and contaminants from streets and curbs.
- Securely fastening vehicle attachments such as brush hogs and hydraulic hoses.
- Maintaining road sweeper vehicles and equipment by performing standard checks.
- Reporting any incidents or mechanical failures to management.
- Adhering to traffic safety regulations by using appropriate signalling and signage.

- Be professional, friendly and display excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrate excellent punctuality and reliability
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Working knowledge of vehicle and standard equipment maintenance.
- In-depth knowledge of safe operating practices and traffic safety regulations.

**Qualifications and Certification**
- **HGV Class 2 licence.**:

- Extensive experience in performing road sweeping operations desirable

**Additional Information**

**Type of Employment: Temporary Ongoing**

**Working Hours: Full time, 9 ¾ hours per day Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday**

**(37 hours per week, 4 days)**

**Location: Willand**

**Remuneration: DOE**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract

**Salary**: From £12.42 per hour
