Balfour Beatty Rail - High Speed 1 has an exciting opportunity for a Fitter/Operator to join our Rail Plant maintenance team at the Singlewell Infrastructure Maintenance Depot in Gravesend, north Kent**.**

**What you'll be doing**
As a **Fitter/Operator, **you will have the following responsibilities:

- To ensure compliance with the Company’s Policies and Procedures on SHEQ;
- Carryout planned maintenance on HS1 trains and work modules;
- Conduct and coordinate mechanical/electrical repairs IAW Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) maintenance standards;
- Ensure regular communication between yourself and your line manager;
- Undertake all duties as directed by the engineering manager;
- Maintain Multi Purpose Vehicles' (MPV's), Road Rail Vehicle (RRV), Stramm and Modules IAW the issued Technical Publications and OEM maintenance instructions.

**Who we're looking for**
You will have the following qualities and experience:
Qualifications:

- Served a recognised Engineering apprenticeship;
- NVQ level 3 or above in an engineering based discipline
- Good resource management skills
- Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

- Knowledge of and experience in the Rail industry
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
- Track Safety (PTS) card/DZEP card
- Forklift (Counterbalance)
- LGV (class 2)
- First Aid at Work
- Fire warden
