£23,088 per annum +Company Benefits

40 hours per week (Monday - Friday: 08:00 am - 17:00 pm) 1-hour break included

Accruing 22 - 25 days holiday + bank holidays | Sick pay eligibility after 12-month qualifying period | Life Assurance 2 x salary

The attractive and unusual Chapel built in 1958 gives Emstrey Crematorium the feeling of character and warmth, with natural light creating a tranquil and peaceful environment.**

Emstrey Crematorium is looking for a compassionate, dedicated individual to join our team as a Groundsperson to manage the day-to-day maintenance of the Crematorium & Cemetery grounds. **What Will I Be Doing as A Groundsperson?**

As a** Groundsperson**, you will carry out a full range of gardening & horticultural tasks, including building new gardens and maintaining a high-quality environment.

Other duties will include:

- Take care of the grounds, keeping them maintained and presentable
- Supporting the creation of memorial gardens and plots to client specification
- Make sure graves are dug appropriately for the deceased and maintain graves as needed for the friends and family of the deceased
- Construct, place, and fix memorials and subsequently maintain them to the highest standard
- Clear the grounds, paths and roadways of litter

**What Do I Need?**
- Horticultural experience is an advantage but not required - the key is a willingness to learn, develop your skills and undertake training courses
- Experience in operating mechanical gardening equipment is advantageous, although training can be provided for this
- Is comfortable with manual handling tasks
- Excellent attention to detail is essential
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable working in a team or carrying out tasks by yourself

**Advantageous**:

- Previous experience in the industry, though this is not required, as full training will be provided.
