**Position - IT Trainer**

**Department - Learning and Development**

**Location**: HQ, Northallerton with the opportunity for hybrid working. You will be expected to travel force-wide when required to deliver training.

**Salary**: £34,287-£36,177 per annum - Scale SO2

**Contract**: Fixed-term 2-year contract - (Possibly of further extension but we can't guarantee this currently, it is funding reliant)

**Hours**: Full time, 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

An opportunity has become available for an experienced IT Trainer. You will work within our Learning and Development department to support new projects by designing and delivering IT training to police officers and staff.

**Key responsibilities of the IT Trainer**:

- Design and deliver I.T. training to support development of personnel in the use of computer and communications systems to enable them to perform their role effectively.
- Identify the types of activities to use in a session, deciding on the appropriate use of individual and group activities.
- Review the potential for using technology-based learning and e-learning methods as part of the session.
- Prepare material and equipment for different types of sessions, such as video tutorials and user guides.
- Evaluate how effective the training is against learning objectives.
- Share and cascade your knowledge with other members of the Training Department to ensure they can support police officers and staff who may require advice/assistance.

**Requirements for the IT Trainer**:
To be successful you will have:

- Experience of designing and delivering IT training via a variety of delivery approaches and media, including but not necessarily limited to on-line and classroom-based training.
- Experience of developing and coaching others.
- A positive outlook, excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Hold a level 4 Award in Education and Training or the equivalent. If not, you must have as a minimum a level 3 Award in Education and Training and be prepared to achieve a level 4 qualification within 12 months of appointment.
